Why Join the MNSHA Mentorship Project as a Mentor?
We’re looking for professionals who want to help shape the next generation of professionals in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology!
Our Goals for the Program:
- Offer mentees an avenue to obtain valuable career advice as well as provide support as students find areas of interest within the field
- Prepare mentees to manage future work-life balance issues
- Develop professional connections across generations
- Strengthen member involvement in MNSHA as a way to “give back” to the profession
As a mentor, we’re asking you commit to leading the discussion with your mentee –your role is to offer guidance, give support, and be a positive resource for students and CFs as they navigate through their early professional years.
The Program will closely follow ASHA’s Mentoring Programming. You’ll be matched with a mentee based on your clinical interests and geographical location.
As a participant, connect with your mentee twice per month via phone, email, or in person for only three months. Participants will receive monthly emails with tips/conversation starters to encourage discussion.
